Mark Shelton and Toca Percussion 

Mark Shelton has joined the artist roster of Toca Percussion.  Part of the RBiMusic Family, Toca Percussion offers a wide variety of high-quality percussion instruments.  Mark considers joining the Toca team of endorsing artists to be a high honor and is excited to assist in promoting the time-tested Toca brand of percussion. 

Texas Touring Roster ! 

The Texas Commission on the Arts is pleased to announce that Mark Shelton has been accepted onto the 2020-2024 Texas Touring Roster.  The appointment is in effect September 1, 2020-August 31, 2024.

Eligible presenters may apply for grant assistance for performances and/or educational services with Mark Shelton--LIVE or VIRTUAL.   Contact Mark Shelton for details.

PICFEST Guest Artist 

Percussionist Mark Shelton is scheduled to perform as a guest artist at PICFEST (Pacific International Choral Festival).  Taking place in Eugene, Oregon, PICCFEST is an annnual choir gathering produced in cooperation with the Oregon Bach Festival.  In addition to playing percussion with the choir under the direction of Dr. Susan Brumfield, Mark will also perform a short solo set at the event and present a lecture/demonstration. One Beat Better

Florida Music Education Association Conference 

The Florida Music Education Association has selected Mark Shelton to present his clinic Teaching Improvisation with the Drum Circle at the upcoming FMEA Professional Development Conference.  The convention is held in Tampa, Florida and attracts more than 10,000 people including music teachers and administrators, along with K-12 participants and parents.  The FMEA conference is one of the largest professional development events for music in the United States. Mark's presentation will be hands-on as participants engage in interactive drumming activites designed to spark musical creativity.  Mark's clinic is sponsored by REMO.

Easy Buckets: Grooves for Beginning Ensembles by Mark Shelton is now available.  Published by Heritage Music Press, Easy Buckets features thirty simples grooves and two easy ensembles for bucket drumming groups.  A concise bucket drumming tutorial is included along with a CD with all the material played by Mark Shelton.  The book is a great way to teach bucket basics. Texas Music Educators Association Convention 

The Texas Music Educators Association has selected Mark Shelton to present a clinic at the annual convention in San Antonio, TX.  Mark will present a hands-on workshop on Bucket Drumming featuring material from Give Me A Bucket and Easy Buckets.  TMEA hosts the nation's largest music educators convention at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, TX.  In recent years, the event has drawn over 25,000 attendees.  Mark's appearance is sponsored by Lorenz Publishing.
